Biography

Professor Ashish Gupta is a globally renowned orthopaedic surgeon whose practice  focuses solely on shoulder surgery.

At Mater Private Hospital Brisbane, he offers referrers a single point of expertise for the full spectrum of shoulder conditions, from the routine to the highly complex. 

Professor Gupta believes in holistic patient care, and his team at the Queensland Orthopaedic Clinic (QOC) offer a personalised approach for all patients.

He has innovated and refined numerous techniques, ranging from muscle advancement for massive rotator cuff tears and ACJ reconstruction to the arthroscopic Latarjet and single‑stage revisions for complex shoulder replacements.

Professor Gupta is the founder director of the Queensland Unit for Advanced Shoulder Research (QUASR) and Akuna Medical Technologies (Akunah), where he leads a team of over 50 people dedicated to advancing shoulder research and artificial intelligence (AI) driven surgery.

He has published and presented over 200 papers internationally and performed live shoulder surgery across the globe.
