Biography

Dr Evan Matthews was born and raised in Central Queensland. After completing his medical degree at the University of Queensland he undertook speciality training in Otolaryngology in Queensland and commenced practice in Rockhampton in 2001. His practice covers the full spectrum of ear, nose and throat, head and neck pathology.

Dr Matthews has clinical interests in paediatric otolaryngology, thyroid and parotid gland surgery, rhinology and indigenous ear disease and scientific research.

He regularly visits the Indigenous community of Woorabinda with the Deadly Ears Program. Dr Matthews is a member of the Indigenous ENT Reference Group (Deadly Ears) and participates in writing policy for the management of ear disease in indigenous children.
