Biography

Dr Gishan Ratnayake is a Radiation Oncologist treating Mater public and private patients at Radiation Oncology Princess Alexandra Hospital, Raymond Terrace (ROPART), located at Mater’s South Brisbane campus. 

Dr Ratnayake completed his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery at Monash University and undertook specialist radiation oncology training across Queensland’s tertiary hospital network.  

He was awarded a Master of Philosophy from The University of Queensland for his  clinical research and has a special interest in breast cancer, lung cancer, prostate cancer, skin cancer and head and neck cancer. 

Dr Ratanayake completed further training in stereotactic radiation therapy at the Alfred Hospital in Melbourne, and is a fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists. 

He is the author of several peer reviewed publications and is a senior lecturer at The University of Queensland’s School of Medicine.
