Biography

A/Prof Kaushik (Kosh) Hazratwala is a Specialist Lower Limb Orthopaedic Surgeon with an interest in Adult Hip and Knee Reconstruction, Sports Injury Surgery and General Limb Trauma.

He has spent the last 15 years in Townsville, both in the private and public sector working with a multitude of peer specialists, medical students, nursing and allied health care staff. Currently he is the most senior Orthopaedic Consultant at the Townsville University Hospital and over this time, mentored, and a lead of the Orthopaedic Department. 

In addition to his clinical roles in the Townsville region, He is currently the Director of the Queensland Lower Limb Clinic, and Co-Director and Chief Financial Officer for the not-for-profit health promotion charity, the Orthopaedic Research Institute of Queensland (ORIQL). His role within ORIQL is multifaceted, and is involved in  leadership and mentoring  medical students (internationally, locally and those undergoing honors programs). Through ORIQL, he provides the only regional Arthroplasty Fellowship in Queensland. The duties surrounding this role include education and mentoring, as well as clinical support of Fellows to enhance their clinical skills in diagnosis, treatment and management of musculoskeletal injuries, diseases and conditions.
