Biography
Dr Shengyang Liao is a geriatrician offering comprehensive medical care for older people.
He is the Bundaberg region’s only geriatrician, addressing a healthcare gap in a community with an ageing population.
Dr Liao graduated from Zhejiang University School of Medicine, one of the oldest and most prestigious medical schools in China.
He practised extensively in various medical fields in China, before emigrating to New Zealand.
Dr Liao gained his qualifications in geriatric and general medicine through training in Auckland, Hamilton and Melbourne.
Before moving to Bundaberg, he was Clinical Director of the Older Persons and Rehabilitation Service, and the Chief Prevocational Educational Supervisor, at Waikato Hospital in Hamilton, New Zealand.
Dr Liao takes a holistic approach to patient care and his broad range of clinical interests help him to ensure his patients receive the best care possible.
