Mater Neurosciences Centre offers a dedicated Stroke Unit, purpose-designed for the optimal treatment of stroke patients. Our seven bed inpatient facility is managed by a dedicated Stroke Coordinator and provides specialised multi-disciplinary care and onsite rehabilitation services.
Through links with the Queensland Stroke Association and the National Stroke Foundation, Mater's Stroke Unit aims to facilitate the optimal assessment, management and rehabilitation of stroke patients.
The establishment of Mater's Stroke Unit has been made possible thanks to the generous support of the Denis and Eileen McEniery Fund, in recognition of four generations of care provided by Mater to the McEniery family. Mater recognises the significant difference this gift will make in the lives of stroke patients and their families, and to the Queensland community.
