Bundle of Joy Premium and Bundle of Joy inclusions
Both the Bundle of Joy Premium and Bundle of Joy cards offer significant savings compared to what you might otherwise pay when having a baby in a private hospital in Brisbane.
By purchasing a Bundle of Joy Premium card ($590), you will have access to routine blood tests, two routine ultrasounds, hospital car parking and partner meals for four days all included. Plus, access to a range of benefits and discounted services as well as special offers from Mater’s community partners.
By purchasing a Bundle of Joy card ($390), you will have access to routine blood tests, hospital car parking and partner meals for four days. This card does not include two routine ultrasound scans, as it is designed for women who had their ultrasounds before becoming a Bundle of Joy club member.
Key Benefits
Routine bloods tests
Both the Bundle of Joy Premium and Bundle of Joy cards include routine blood tests at Mater Pathology. No appointment is required. Simply take your referral for pregnancy blood tests to your nearest Mater Pathology collection centre.
You can take any pathology request form to Mater, even if addressed to a different pathology provider.
Important: The Bundle of Joy Premium and Bundle of Joy cards only cover routine blood tests completed by Mater Pathology. If you decide to have your blood tests taken by another pathology provider, you may incur out-of-pocket costs.
Routine blood tests include the following tests:
- Free bHCG
- PAPP-A
- Full blood count (FBC)
- Blood group and antibodies
- Rubella antibody titre
- Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)
- Syphilis
- Urine Microscopy Culture Sensitivity
- Thyroid function
- Chlamydia
- Glucose tolerance test
- Electrolytes and liver function
It may include these tests (dependant on your specific risk factors):
- Vitamin D
- Measles, Mumps, Varicella, CMV Toxoplasmosis, Herpes viruses.
- HbA1c
- Urinary protein: creatinine ratio
- Cervical screening test
- Ferritin (iron studies)
All other tests (including NIPT) may incur additional out-of-pocket costs.
Routine ultrasounds – included in Bundle of Joy Premium only
There are two routine ultrasound scans undertaken during pregnancy (at 12-14 weeks and 18-20 weeks).
The Bundle of Joy Premium card includes routine ultrasounds at Mater Women’s Imaging, located at Level 7, Mater Mothers’ Private Brisbane.
Usually, you would expect to pay an out-of-pocket cost of $375 - $500 for these scans, but with your Bundle of Joy Premium card, your routine ultrasounds are included.
Important: The Bundle of Joy Premium card only covers routine ultrasound scans completed by Mater Women’s Imaging. If you decide to have your ultrasound scan completed by another imaging provider, you may incur out-of-pocket costs.
Hospital car parking
Enjoy four consecutive days of free hospital car parking when your baby is born. Simply tap your Bundle of Joy Premium or Bundle of Joy card at entry and exit of any Mater carpark to gain free access.
Partner meals
With your Bundle of Joy Premium and Bundle of Joy card, we will take care of your partner’s meals for up to four days after your baby is born. They will receive room service free of charge for up to three meals a day, no more than 10 meals in total. Options include breakfast, lunch, and dinner. These 10 meals will automatically be recorded and subtracted from your invoice.
As a private patient, your meals will already be catered for.
