While at Mater Mothers’ Private Gold Coast, you will have 24-hour access to our expert, caring midwives, nurses and clinical support team at the press of a button. Baby care assistants are also on hand to assist you and your partner with settling your baby during the night.
A range of informative talks and classes are available daily for you to attend during your stay with us. Your midwife or nurse will let you know where and when these classes are happening. We recommend that you attend as many as you can.
Coming to hospital
The main entry point to the hospital for maternity is via the car park or the main entrance. Your partner may park in one of the designated drop off car spaces, accessed via the main entrance to the hospital on Hill Street. Once parked, please proceed directly to Mater Mothers on Level 1. As these spaces are for short term parking only, your car will need to be moved to the multi-storey car park, accessible off Innovation Drive, once you are settled in the birthing suites.
The main entrance will be locked after hours, so use the intercom to gain access. Enter and walk past reception, proceed along the corridor to the lifts. Take the lift to the maternity ward on Level 1, turn left out of the lifts and a midwife or clerical person will meet you and escort to the birthing suites. If you are in strong labour please advise the midwives prior to your arrival and you will be met at the main entrance.
If you are booked for an elective caesarean section or induction, please present to the maternity ward for admission.
During your stay with us, our midwives and nurses will provide education and information to enable you to confidently care for yourself and your baby in preparation for going home.
