Improving health services for North Queensland
The relocation of Mater Mothers' Private Townsville and the renal unit from Mater's Hyde Park to Pimlico campus is complemented by an additional four fast-track treatment bays being added to Mater Emergency, demonstrating Mater's continued investment in improved healthcare for North Queenslanders.

Mater Mothers' Private Townsville
Our relocated maternity ward will include:
- 12 inpatient beds
- 3 birth suites
- 6 special care nursery cots.
This project is expected to be complete by early 2026.
The Mater Mothers' Private Townsville project is supported by funding from the Australian Government Department of Health and Aged Care.
Pimlico campus renal unit
Our relocated renal unit will adjoin Mater Emergency, providing our dialysis patients with direct access to Mater's full suite of specialists as required.
The unit is also set to expand on Mater's existing service, with 12 renal dialysis chairs set to come online by the end of 2025.

Emergency expansion
In partnership with Private Emergency Health Australia, Mater's nine-bay Emergency Department is expanding with an additional four fast-track treatment bays, expected to be online by the end of 2025.
This expansion responds to the growing demand for emergency care and complements Mater's full-circle offering from diagnosis to rehabilitation.
