Cathy Wilks was appointed to the role of Chief People, Culture and Learning Officer at Mater in August 2025. She leads the development and execution of Mater’s people, culture, and learning strategies, with a focus on creating a supportive, valued, and inspiring workplace where staff can deliver their best.
Ms Wilks brings extensive cross-sector executive experience to Mater, having previously served as HR Executive for a national private hospital group, alongside leadership roles in the aged care and oil and gas industries. Her expertise includes people strategy, workforce planning, organisational development and design, and building high-performing teams.
With a deep understanding of labour markets and healthcare workforce trends, Ms Wilks is well-positioned to support Mater’s Mission and develop a responsive, future-focused People Strategy. She is passionate about strengthening Mater’s culture, enhancing learning opportunities, and improving the overall employee experience across the organisation.
