Traditionally, Lent is a season when Christians prepare for the celebration of Easter. In our busy world, Lent provides us with an opportunity for reflection and renewal.
Lent commences on Ash Wednesday (14 February 2018) and covers a period of approximately six weeks, ending on Holy Thursday night (29 March 2018).
During this year’s reflections, we invite you to reassess your relationships and attitudes and to identify the things you could do differently.
Mass will be held at the following locations and times to mark Ash Wednesday (14 February), the first day of the liturgical season of Lent:
There will be the distribution of ashes at both masses.
Regular Mass services are held at the South Brisbane campus in the Chapel, level 2, Mater Hospital Brisbane from 12.30 pm on weekdays, at 6 pm on Saturday and 8 am on Sunday. Mater Private Hospital Springfield Mass is usually held at 10 am each Wednesday; Mater Private Hospital Redland Mass is held at 9 am on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month. The services are available for any staff member, visitor or patient to attend.
