You can find the Chapel on level 6 near the entrance of Mater Private Hospital Brisbane, offering a quiet space for personal reflection at any time.
Alternativley, a Chapel and Multifaith Sacred Space can be found on level 3 of Salmon Building
Mater's Pastoral Care Practitioners are available to provide emotional and spiritual support by calling extension #1390 from the beside phone.
Patients, visitors and staff are welcome to join:
- Mass held Mondays from 11am at Mater Private Hospital Brisbane
- A 15 minute mindfulness session with singing bowls held on Wednesdays from 12noon in the Multifaith Sacred Space on level 3 of Salmon Building.
Children's play area
Indoor and covered outdoor play areas for children, located on Level 7 of the Salmon Building.
Electronic devices
My Mater Bedside is available in all patient rooms and offers educational resources, TV and streaming services as well as access to national newspapers.
Patients are encouraged to bring their own personal electronic devices to hospital, whether that’s a mobile phone, tablet or laptop.
From any Wi-Fi enabled device, patients and their family can access a free Wi-Fi service while they are at hospital.
Interpreter Service
Effective communication between patients and staff is important. Interpreters are essential in ensuring that your diagnosis and treatment are explained to you in your preferred language and that you understand the information you have been given.
Mater provides experienced interpreters 24 hours a day, seven days a week in every language and offers this service free of charge to every clinic. Interpreters can be provided onsite, via telephone or via video remotely.
Interpreter services are available and can be organised by the nurse caring for you.

Mater Pharmacy Raymond Terrace offer a range of services to help with the ongoing healthcare needs of our customers and their families.

Pharmaceutical care is provided by Mater pharmacists, who specialise in a range of disciplines including women’s health, oncology and haematology, neonatal critical care, adult critical care, and more.
Mater Pharmacy offers script and dispensary services, as well as a wide range of gifts. For hospital inpatients, the pharmacy has an electronic ordering system so required medicines can be dispensed by our pharmacists and delivered to your hospital room.
To ensure your medications are managed safely while in hospital, a Mater Pharmacist is available to review medications that you have been taking at home. Please ensure that you have all your medications with you in their original containers and any current prescriptions. Or, if you take many regular medications, please request a medication list from your local pharmacy and bring this too.
During your stay your specialist doctor may ask you to stop taking your regular medications or prescribe additional medication as part of your treatment plan. For this reason, medications that have been put into a dosette box or Webster pack cannot be used while you are in hospital. New supplies are required to ensure your safety.

Private Emergency Care Centre
The Mater Private Emergency Care Centre is a fee-for-service emergency centre run by experienced emergency doctors and nurses, open 24-hours a day, 7 days a week.
With 95 per cent of patients receiving treatment within 30 minutes, the Mater Private Emergency Care Centre is there to treat patients with exceptional care—fast. You can self-present or be referred to the centre by your GP or other medical specialist.
Our centre is fully equipped to triage all paediatric and adult patients with access to onsite specialists, X-ray, Mater Private CardioVascular Unit, pathology and if necessary admission to hospital for further tests or a procedure in theatre.
