Management of children with asthma, coughing, chest infections, snoring, obstructive sleep apnoea and difficulty sleeping.

Biography

Dr Scott Burgess graduated from the University of Queensland in 1996 and was jointly awarded the Magdalene Brodie Prize in Paediatrics. He went on to train in paediatric medicine and has been awarded sub-specialist qualifications in both children's respiratory and sleep medicine. He also has research qualifications including a PhD from the University of Western Australia which involved investigating and developing new strategies to manage children with poorly controlled asthma.

Dr Burgess leads a number of research programs focussed on improving the care of children with lung and sleeping problems and is involved in teaching and mentoring medical students and doctors training to be paediatricians. He holds honourary positions with the University of Queensland and Mater Research.

Dr Burgess is an experienced paediatrician specialising in problems affecting the lungs, breathing and sleep in children from birth to adulthood.  He has extensive experience in managing children with asthma, coughing, chest infections, snoring, obstructive sleep apnoea and difficulty sleeping.

Dr Burgess admits patients privately to Mater Children’s Private Brisbane and consults privately with Queensland Children’s Lung and Sleep Specialists (Q-CLASS).
