What will happen on my first visit to Mater Cancer Care Centre?

On arrival, please make yourself known to the reception team, who will check you in and complete some additional forms. They will then walk with you to the waiting room for your appointment with the doctor.

After you’ve seen the doctor please ensure you make any further appointments before you head home.

On your first visit, you will see the doctor in the consulting rooms to discuss your diagnosis and a treatment plan. Patient treatment programs at Mater Cancer Care Centres are personalised to meet individual care needs and tailored to ensure that every patient receives the highest level of medical care and support during their treatment.

We understand that this can be a very worrying and anxious time for you and your family and highly recommend that you bring a support person with you. They are most welcome to participate in any discussions (with your permission). If you require treatment, education will be provided prior to starting. Our friendly nursing team will care for you during any treatments you may require.
