Swallowing and Communication Disorders

Our speech pathologists are trained to provide specialist care to adults (>18 years) who require assessment and management of swallowing and communication disorders. These may include:

  • Voice disorders (following assessment and diagnosis of a voice disorder by an Ear Nose and Throat specialist)
  • Acquired speech disorders (e.g. dysarthria)
  • Acquired language disorders (e.g. aphasia)
  • Disorders of the upper airway and voice box (larynx) including Chronic Cough and Vocal Cord Dysfunction (following assessment and diagnosis by a respiratory physician and/or Ear Nose and Throat specialist)
  • Difficulties eating and drinking (dysphagia)
